More about Andrew:

I was born in Kawasaki, Japan to an American father and Japanese mother. I attended St. Mary’s International School in Tokyo for elementary school before relocating to live in Nashville, Tennessee, where I attended middle school, I returned to Japan to complete high school. I graduated from the Yokohama International School in 1994 before attending the University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated Cum Laude in 1998. While in college, I interned at the Economics Section of U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, as well the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service. Upon graduation, I went to work on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., where I worked on staff of Senator Barbara Boxer and later as a congressional fellow with the office of U.S. Representative Robert Matsui after being awarded the Mike Masaoka Congressional Fellowship by the Japanese American Citizens League. I came to Hawaii for law school in 1999 and graduated from the William S. Richard School of Law at the University of Hawaii, where I was a member of both the University of Hawaii Law Review and the Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal. After passing the Hawaii bar, I clerked for Judge Karen N. Blondin of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit. Thereafter, I worked as an associate attorney for several law firms in Honolulu prior to opening my own practice in 2011.
